Asynchronous collaboration is also achieved "on the boards" through Joint Discussions. Members of the break-out sections post weekly assignments and comments to each other on boards reserved for each section. All students can read all the boards, permitting "lurking" (reading without participating). Asynchronous assignments allow "anytime, anywhere" course work. Another benefit not usual in face-to-face classes is the ability to view peers' work in a convenient, paperless fashion. |
