Live chat in small groups (6 to 8 students) meets several course objectives, chief among them the critical assessment of sexuality literature and research. Facilitated by an instructor or teaching assistant, each chat lasts about an hour and sessions are scheduled in evening or on weekends. Students prepare for the chat by locating research articles and posting reference information about them. Thus, topics such as Cross-Cultural Perspectives on Sexuality, Gender Issues, and Sexual Behaviors are examined through a scholarly lens. |
